I use the tractor supply oil in everything, black bucket think it's called premium. TSC Universal Hydraulic oilĭeere doesn't price oil. He complained a bit, parts man hit a few keys on the computer and it wound up cheaper than Dealer B. And that's with dealer A having things on sale, Dealer B keeps same price year round.Ī friend of mine went to a JD construction dealer once and found they were much higher on the same barrel as Dealer B.

Dealer A is highest price, independent fellow is $50 cheaper on a barrel of Hy gard and Plus 50. I have 2 dealers and and independent guy in the area that all sell JD oil. JD is cheaper if you buy it by the 55 gal drum (I'm sure the retail brands would be too, just never see them in the store ) and it sounds like you're going to do enough tractors to burn through at least a barrel. I think you need to do a little shopping on your oil. I am going back to.spending the extra money for jd oil this winter. I have had all sorts of issues with the transmission this summer, poor shifting, louder, hotter. I switched my mxm to tsc oil this past winter. I have been using Sinclair universal hytran oil for years from the local supplier and getting along fine. I personally think IH Hytran is the best hydraulic oil on the market but man I cannot afford it. However stay away from the stuff in the yellow bucket from Orchlen's. I know noting about TSC products as we don't have one close. My local dealer buys it by the semi load and its fairly cheap. I just buy Agco oil which is now produced by CHS and is the same quality as cenex. SO the crap oil you buy at orschelns or TSC can claim all day long that they match the specs because there are known and they cant be held liable. The big companies like CAT, John Deere, Case IH, etc do not release their specs. There are no universal standards for hydralic oil like there is on engine oil. Is Deere's really that much better? Edited by RB4020 22:13 The TSC oil is like $35 per 5 gallons sometimes less on sale. Going to change fluid and replace filters.

I bought 15 gallons of HY Guard ($200+ ) the other day for the 4430 powershift. TSC 's Travellor Universal hydraulic fluid states it's rated J20C for new JD tractors.
